 In the first figure i was thinking about making a device that had almost like a bed sheet underneath it in case the patient slipped between the mattress it would prevent them from falling.
In the second figure I was thinking about filling the sides with some kind of mesh like the children's bed rails you can buy for your home. I was also thinking about having some kind of an elastic so that the device could move easily with the rails.
In the third figure I looked at different shapes that you can order foam in and started brainstorming what shape i wanted my foam to be in. I was thinking that maybe the parrallelogram, wedge, and rectangle might work in different areas on the bed. I also was thinking about the different kinds of foams I might want to use like memory foam or soft packing foam.
I also brainstormed about the different methods to attach the device to the bed. Like velcro, snaps, buttons, buckles, hooks and eyes, and zippers.
